Her mother is a Swedish and her father is the businessman Ishak Alaton. She completed elementary school in Sisli Terakki, middle school in Saint Pulcherie and high school in Notre Dame de Sion. Afterwards, she received Business Administration Undergraduate degree from Dickinson University and graduate degree in Industry Psychology from York University. She worked with multinational companies such as Aerospatiale, Alcatel and Teletas and founded the public relations consulting company Megatrend. She was recognized as the Businesswoman of the Year by the National Productivity Center of Turkey in 1992 and ‘Tomorrow’s Global Leader in the Davos World Economic Forum in 1993. Leyla Alaton is a member of the Board of Directors of Alarko Holding. She is among the founders of GYIAD and KAGIDER. She is a member of several associations primarily including TUGIAD and The Association for Protection of Natural Life.
