Tan Sağtürk, a graduate of Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory Higher Ballet Department, has a successful ballet career in national and international arenas. At the beginning of his career, he worked as a principal dancer at the French Young Ballet Le Jeune Ballet De France and the French State Ballet Ballet National De France, and later continued his career as a principal dancer at the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet. He also contributed to ballet education by establishing ballet and dance schools in Diyarbakır, Mardin, Gaziantep, Kayseri, Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Cyprus. Tan Sağtürk established the Ballet and Dance Training Center, popularizing ballet among the masses and making significant contributions to ballet education. The work he prepared for the French State Ballet, Soude-ve Je ne Regrette Rien (Edit Piaf), attracted great attention. He undertook the choreography of the work called "Heart Sound Project", which was performed on the stages of Antalya and Izmir State Opera and Ballet. Tan Sağtürk played the leading role in important works and offered classical and modern ballet experience to Turkish audiences. In the 2002-2003 season, he realized the "Heart Sound" project at Antalya State Opera and Ballet with 25 professional dancers, and later took it to the stage in Izmir in 2004. Tan Sağtürk has won many awards thanks to his artistic achievements, and prestigious awards such as the "International Melvin Jones Award" are some of them. In his memory, a class called "Tan Sağtürk Class" was created at Istanbul Adıgüzel Fine Arts High School. He has performed as a principal dancer in many ballet events across Turkey. Tan Sağtürk also prepared the artistic consultancy and choreography for a musical called "Romantika". In this project, he met and later married Alona Ataberk, who is of Russian origin. In addition, he took part in the TV series "İkinci Bahar" and the movie "İçerideki", in which he shared the leading roles with famous actors Türkan Şoray and Şener Şen. Tan Sağtürk, who is also active in the field of media in addition to his artistic career, has worked as a presenter, jury member and coach in television programs and has also appeared in television commercials. After the heart surgery he had in the USA in 2007, he wrote a book called "They Sprinkled the Stars on the Stages" and wrote his second book, "Prüvet Race for His Tea" for Turkey. In July 2009, he married Alona Ataberki and they had a daughter named Ada. Tan Sağtürk popularized ballet among the masses and contributed to ballet education by opening the Ballet and Dance Training Center. He has a work called Soude-ve Je ne Regrette Rien (Edit Piaf) for the French State Ballet. He also choreographed the work called "Heart Sound Project" staged by Antalya and Izmir State Opera and Ballet. Tan Sağtürk, has won many awards thanks to his artistic achievements, has been deemed worthy of prestigious awards such as the "International Melvin Jones Award". The name of a class dedicated to him, "Tan Sağtürk Class", was given at Istanbul Adıgüzel Fine Arts High School. He has served as a principal dancer in many ballet events across Türkiye. He was appointed as the General Director of the State Opera and Ballet within the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2023. He has a daughter named Ada and son named Teo.
